Below is a list of organizations that one can volunteer for in order to make a difference in our community.

    The Pacific Beach Coalition is dedicated to preserving the ocean, coastal habitat, and wildlife, and ending litter through advocacy, education, community building, and citizen action.
  • CoastPride – coastpride.org
    As the only organization of it’s kind on the coast, CoastPride uses its resources to foster safety and wellness for LGBTQ individuals and families. These efforts increase the support for all coastside youth and adults through organizing, networking, and bringing needed services and visibility to our diverse Coastside community.

    Village of the Coastside is a nonprofit membership organization that works to sustain and enhance the wellbeing of older adults who wish to remain in their own homes and to be engaged in their community as they age. Our primary goals are to maximize individuals’ independence and minimize social isolation.

    We build confidence . Whether a part of our after-school academic coaching center, or a full-time student in our college preparatory school, your child will come away a confident learner. Using a heart-centered approach that honors students as individuals, we meet them where they are—academically, emotionally, and developmentally—by customizing programs that provide a rigorous curriculum while allowing them to learn and develop at their own pace.

    The Coastside Land Trust is dedicated to the preservation, protection and enhancement of the open space environment including the natural, scenic, recreational, cultural, historical, and agricultural resources of Half Moon Bay and the San Mateo County coast for present and future generations.

    Senior Coastsiders provides opportunities, support and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities living on the coastside, from Montara to Pescadero and Skyline to the Sea.

    To encourage literary and artistic endeavors in Pacific Coast communities through programs and activities that foster literature, creative expression, reporting, and independent journalism, and through collaborative projects with community, media, cultural, and education groups.

    The Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Bureau is a partnership of community and business professionals working together to strengthen a sustainable socio-economic climate in our unique Coastside community. This membership organization builds business relationships and represents the interests of business and community with government.

    It is the mission of the CRT volunteer guild to offer opportunities for theatre lovers to become active volunteers at Coastal Repertory Theatre – to join in the fun and sense of community by participating in our Volunteer Guild. We will enrich and respect, value and embrace each volunteer. The Guild commits to adapting and growing the CRT’s increasing need for dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers – and welcomes all community members who joined us in the exciting adventures of Coastal Rep!
  • Women who Identify Recruit and Elect – www.wireforwomen.com
    Wire for Women believes our communities are strengthened when more women serve in appointed and elected office. We are a pioneering non-partisan volunteer organization that engages the community to recruit and support women candidates for local elected and appointed offices. We work in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties to encourage women to seek public office. Our volunteers can mentor women seeking appointed positions and also provide candidates with a broad range of services to help them run the best campaign possible and get elected.

    Sweet Farm Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal sanctuary and sustainable vegetable and flower farm dedicated to creating a humane and sustainable world through education, inspiration, and innovation. We facilitate positive change through individual’s everyday choices while also driving global impact through the support of innovative technologies that reduce and eliminate the need for animals in the system.
  • Cake4Kids – www.cake4kids.org
    At Cake4Kids we provide free custom birthday cakes to underserved children. In a world where the basics of a healthy childhood are not often addressed, we aim to make them feel special and loved on their birthday. We partner with social and human services agencies that support homeless children, children who are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking, those in the foster care system, and youth living at the poverty line. Our cakes are homemade and baked by our amazing volunteers.
